The HAC project team is proud to present a stunning new limited edition screen print from Tony Ogle. He has donated this whole edition of 150 prints direct to the project. For this the project team is extremely grateful.
The image measures 56cm X 35cm with paper size 70 X 50
Tony is one of New Zealand’s leading screenprinters and is represented in galleries throughout the country. This work was printed by Artrite Screen Printing of Auckland, printers to NZ’s top artists.
Entitled “Sandspit Baches – Matapouri”, the print depicts the quintessential Northland experience – a family bach, a pristine beach and a long hot summer. Matapouri Bay is of course one of the Whangarei district’s most loved beaches and the sandpit area, with old style baches right on the beach, very special.
In agreeing to produce this work for the project Tony said “its like I am coming full circle because I first learnt to screen print while living at Matapouri Bay back in the 80’s. It feels great to be able to give something back to the place where it all began for me”.
Tony says he remembers visiting the Kawakawa toilets which he describes as an uplifting experience that stayed with him. "That memory of Hundertwasser’s genius inspried me to want to help this project come to life," he says.
Tony's print is priced at $480 unframed and is exclusive to the HAC Art Shop.
